Sharrow - Sheffield
Located less than 10 minutes walk from Sheffield City Centre
the park is a quiet and restful place to escape the hustle and
bustle of the UKs 4th largest city.
Our park is enjoyed by young and old and forms a focus
for many local community activities, gatherings and events.
Located the heart of Sharrow, our park reflects the rich
and colourful diversity of the area with over 200 different
ethnic, racial and cultural groups coming together to create
a harmonious and friendly, welcoming and vibrant community.
Nestled between the main road (London Road), Adventure Playground
and local infant school, the park has open areas, a sports pitch
'ball park' (where artists come from all over the UK and Europe
to create stunning urban 'graffiti' art), a wildlife garden,
and a new (June 2005) play area.
A semi-formal group known as the Friends of Mount Pleasant Park meet
on the first Sunday each month to tidy and maintain the park.
This site is currently maintained by Martyn Bailey (that's me).
I've lived and worked in Sharrow for over 15 years and use the
park most days both to walk my dog (Max) and to escape my office!
